PayPal continues to grow

PayPal has around 70 million active users (a rise of over 20% since 2007) and is available in many different languages and currencies. In 2008 it processed around $60 billion in transactions and generated around $2.4 billion in revenue. By 2011 PayPal aims to $4.5 billion in revenue, based on a growth strategy targeting an increased penetration on eBay; growth in merchant services and continued expansion into mobile. PayPal is also focusing on other opportunities such as government transactions, social networks and the non-profit sector.
