Hand of God Rock Makes $16,800 on eBay

The “Hand of God” Rock (Wall/Rights) auction which attracted international attention has ended. The final bid/eBay selling price was $16,866. Over 46,000 people visited the unique auction listing to take a closer look at the unusual rock formation.

The large, (11 feet tall by 6 feet wide) “Hand of God” rock formation became famous when an Idaho man posted it on eBay. Stating the formation had presented itself (In the form of a large hand) after a rockslide took place in his backyard during Lent, on March 8.

According to James Massey, publisher of www.WhatSellsBest.com a website which provides a free list and photos of top selling eBay items. “It’s not uncommon for unusual items with apparent spiritual significance to catch the public’s attention. As a result they sometimes fetch extraordinary (eBay selling) prices.”

Massey recalled an eBay auction in 2004 where a Florida Woman auctioned her infamous “Holy Toast”. The toasted cheese sandwich, that appeared to bear an image of the Virgin Mary. It sold for $28,000.
