Internet sports broadcaster JumpTV (TSX:JTV) has appointed former eBay Canada general manager Jordan Banks as its new chief executive, effective Nov. 12.

At that time, current chairman and CEO Scott Paterson will become executive chairman, the Toronto company said Monday.

“Jordan is one of Canada’s leading Internet executives, having experienced tremendous success over the past decade leading business activities of eBay Canada and the National Hockey League Players’ Association,” Paterson said in a release.

“He has added significant value as an independent (non executive) director of JumpTV and our entire board of directors feels that his skill set, his leadership talents and his deep knowledge of the Internet ideally position him to lead JumpTV to its fullest potential.”
