Gucci warns eBay over sale of counterfeit goods

Published September 3rd, 2007

eBay is facing legal action from the owners of Gucci over the sale of counterfeit goods, if the auction giant fails to act on ridding them from its site, according to reports.

French-owned PPR, under whose umbrella Stella McCartney and Yves Saint Laurent also falls, said that eBay must crack down on the illegal sales of fake goods by eBay sellers, or face legal action.

The legal threat comes a year after PPR rival LVMH launched its own lawsuit against eBay
