New Delhi web designer held over eBay auction scam

A software professional has been arrested in New Delhi for allegedly coning at least four people through the interactive marketing portal www.ebay.com, police said on Friday.

Web designer Tarang Bhargava was arrested on Thursday from his Neb Sarai office in south Delhi on charges of cheating the four to the tune of Rs45,000 (Dh4,090) after creating a fake account in the name of Amitabh with eBay.

According to the police, Bhargava started mobile phones auctions, he took the money but never delivered the items.
