Stolen Oakland Airport Radio Ends Up On eBay

A stolen security radio from the Oakland Airport turned-up on eBay. A San Jose man is facing felony charges, after federal and local authorities allege he tried to sell a stolen transportation safety administration encrypted radio over the Internet.

Two days ago, alameda county sheriff deputies assigned to the Oakland Airport were informed by TSA officials, one of it’s encrypted radio’s had been stolen.

A radio, similar to this is used by TSA security officers that monitor all Oakland Airport security operations.

Rich Lucia, Alameda County Under sheriff:: “We discovered that the radio, had been stolen and placed on eBay, by an individual that had been working for a company that is employed by TSA doing drug screenings.”

Deputies arrested Farzad Taheri of San Jose, who also goes by the name Frank Taheri, as he arrived to work at the Oakland Airport, Friday morning.

While conducting a search warrant at Taheri’s home, investigators found the stolen radio, along with methamphetamine and several guns.
