eBay and Paypal scam spam

A significant portion of the tons of scam spam flooding email boxes everywhere is supposedly from eBay or Paypal.

In fact, according to security researcher Michael Sutton, they’re the two most common brands targeted by phishers, “together accounting for more than half of all phishing activity,” says CNET News.

It’s everywhere and the proliferation is worrying eBay ceo Meg Whitman, she told a Visa security conference, says the story.

Additional safeguards and educational campaigns are needed, “to prevent consumers from falling prey to phony requests for their sensitive information - or simply getting annoyed and canceling their eBay accounts,” she says, states CNET.
