Thais cashing in on eBay trading concept

Bangkok Post – Online shopping is an increasingly popular way of avoiding crowded malls and traffic jams, and eBay has taken this a step further by creating a global online marketplace where anyone can buy or sell just about anything.

“Only a few clicks after registering on eBay, you’re ready for coursing its market, which has more than 50,000 categories. You may come across something that you have been looking for, but with a lower price than on the general market,” said Napat Junyaprasert, marketing director of Megabaht Co Ltd.

Ms Napat said eBay was founded in the United States in September 1995 and became available to Thai consumers last year.

To raise brand awareness among Thai people, eBay has collaborated with two local companies, Megabaht and Thai Venture, to provide training on buying and selling online.

EBay is essentially an online auction, but users can also buy and sell under a fixed-price format.
