eBay Skype Launches Speakerphone

Polycom has just launched a new audio-conferencing speakerphone that works with Skype by connecting to a computer via a regular USB cable. The $129.99 machine includes a stereo microphone that takes advantage of Skype’s much touted audio quality.

The venture seems to make sense for Skype, as some 30% of its 100 million subscribers use its service for work. “These are mom-and-pops who are trying to control their calling costs,” Skype’s general manager for North America, Henry Gomez, said in a media report.
