A MUM who netted at least $36,600 in an eBay scam claims she was helped by her then boyfriend - a computer expert now in charge of the Australian Stock Exchange website.

Mother-of-two Leanne Emanuel, 24, yesterday admitted fleecing unsuspecting internet shoppers over 11 months.

She set up fraudulent bank accounts with stolen details then placed items she did not possess - such as laptop computers and digital cameras - for sale on auction sites eBay and sold.com.au.

Emanuel pleaded guilty to 17 counts of fraud totalling $36,661.52.
