Autographed Volkswagen Touareg Hood up for Auction on eBay
Published March 9th, 2006
Volkswagen is saying that this is one case where it’s what is on the hood, rather than beneath it, that counts, as eBay auctions off an autographed hood from a Volkswagen Touareg.
The hood of the Touareg was signed by a long list of Hollywood and independent film stars, including Steve Carrell, star of “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” and Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon. The hood was also signed by Wilmer Valderrama from “That ’70s Show” and Joseph Fiennes, star of “Shakespeare in Love.” Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Sundance Institute, a nonprofit cultural organization founded by Redford in 1981.
VW has also awarded the use of a Touareg for one year to filmmaker Kathryn Ann Busby, creator of the short film “Max and Josh.”
The hood will be auctioned to the highest bidder. Volkswagen of America was the official vehicle of the 2006 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
